Have you ever uttered, "I can't do that with my bad side"? Let’s lose good and bad from our vocab. Judgement rarely helps people recover or learn new things. You either can do an intended action (in this moment) or you can’t. Why does it have to be good or bad?If you are unable to do something, it's...Frustrating, absolutely.
Disappointing, yup. But labelling your body parts as "bad" is not helpful. You have an amazing body. It breathes when it needs to. It pumps blood to all the vital organs it needs to. It is home to your amazing brain! Your brain is amazing! Never underestimate your brain’s power to learn, to grow, to love, to thrive! Your amazing brain and body has gotten you this far, trust that it can take you farther than you thought possible. Let’s start without the judgement. Let’s start with the acceptance of what is now and know that everything changes. Everything. Believe that you have the power to influence that change. And it starts in your brain. You can learn new things! Your brain is plastic. Neuroplasticity is real! Science has proven it. Embrace it! Harness it! With every class I teach, every private lesson I give, I see how my chosen modality of Neuromovement facilitates change.
